The Urban Technology Project (UTP) is a collaborative initiative between the School District of Philadelphia and Communities In Schools of Philadelphia, Inc., that empowers Philadelphia youth and their communities through meaningful technological experiences that link youth leadership development, education and community building.

UTP programs involve a continuum of service-learning and school-to-work experiences that provide long-term, holistic support for urban youth. These programs begin in middle school, continue through high school and extend into post-secondary opportunities. The Urban Technology Project is comprised of the Computer Support Specialists Registered IT Apprenticeship Program, the Digital Service Fellows AmeriCorps Program and TechServ clubs.

This is our blog site! We will post news from the field, profiles of our fellows, interesting news and articles we come across, and write articles to stimulate conversation about social issues such as poverty and digital inclusion in Philadelphia.
